[00:06.000]The Workers on the S. P. line to strike...
[00:06.000]The Workers on the S. P. line to strike sent out a call;
[00:09.000]But Casey Jones, the engineer, he wouldn't strike at all;
[00:12.000]His boiler it was leaking, and its drivers on the bum,
[00:15.000]And his engine and its bearings, they were all out of plumb.
[00:19.000]Casey Jones kept his junk pile running;
[00:22.000]Casey Jones was working double time;
[00:25.000]Casey Jones got a wooden medal,
[00:28.000]For being good and faithful on the S. P. line.
[00:33.000]The workers said to Casey: "Won't you help us win this strike?"
[00:36.000]But Casey said: "Let me alone, you'd better take a hike."
[00:39.000]Well Casey's wheezy engine ran right off the wheezy track
[00:42.000]And Casey hit the river bottom with an awful smack.
[00:45.000]Casey Jones hit the river bottom;
[00:48.000]Casey Jones broke his blessed spine;
[00:51.000]Casey Jones turned into an angel.
[00:54.000]He got a trip to heaven on the S. P. line.
[00:59.000]When Casey got up to heaven, to the Pearly Gate,
[01:02.000]He said: "I'm Casey Jones, the guy that pulled the S. P. freight."
[01:06.000]"You're just the man," said Peter, "our musicians are on strike;
[01:09.000]You can get a job a-scabbing any time you like."
[01:12.000]Cascy Jones got a job in heaven
[01:15.000]Casey Jones was doing mighty fine;
[01:18.000]Casey Jones went scabbing on the angels,
[01:21.000]Just like he did to workers on the S. P. line.
[01:26.000]The Angels' got together, and they said it wasn't fair,
[01:30.000]For Casey Jones to go around a-scabbing everywhere.
[01:33.000]The Angels' Union No. 23, they sure were there,
[01:36.000]And they promptly fired Casey down the Golden Stairs.
[01:40.000]Casey Jones went to Hell a-flying;
[01:43.000]"Casey Jones," the Devil said, "Oh fine:
[01:46.000]Casey Jones, get busy shovelling sulphur;
[01:49.000]That's what you get for scabbing on the S. P. Line."
